CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

I teach Vinyasa Flow, Hatha, Yin, Restorative & Yoga Nidra.

Vinyasa Flow - Translated from Sanskrit, vinyasa means "to place in a special way." In this all-levels vinyasa flow class, students will focus on linking conscious breath with mindful movement to flow through a progressive sequence of postures (asanas). Cultivate enhanced self-awareness as you flow through sun salutations and standing poses using the breath as your anchor. This invigorating practice seeks to build strength, improve balance, and reduce stress while boosting vitality and self-confidence.

Yin/Vin - This yoga fusion class blends the two styles of Yin Yoga and Vinyasa Yoga. Begin with 25-30 minutes of long-held passive poses while the muscles are cool to gently stress the body’s collagen-rich connective tissue and activate the parasympathetic nervous system. Mindfully transition to a gentle flow marked by moon salutations and guided visualization while maintaining an inward focus. Restore and maintain the body’s natural range of motion through the practice of Yin followed by a moving meditation to connect body and mind.

Yoga Nidra Fusion - This yoga fusion class combines Restorative Yoga and Yin Yoga with the conscious relaxation practice known as Yoga Nidra or “yogic sleep”. Relax into a state of clarity and bliss with 40-45 minutes of Yin and/or Restorative poses followed by Yoga Nidra. This class seeks to facilitate deep relaxation in the mind and body, helping to replenish the nervous system and restore energy levels.

Yinyasa - A powerful pairing of two different disciplines of asana; Yinyasa has fused the Yin style of long-held passive poses with the dynamic, yang style of Vinyasa (flow). This class will begin with Yin to open the body to promote flexibility and energy flow while encouraging a more contemplative, non-reactive quality of mind. After a few long held poses the class will move into a flow to strengthen and invigorate the body and mind.

Vin/Yin - This yoga fusion class blends the two styles of Yin Yoga and Vinyasa Yoga. Begin with 35-45 minutes of Vinyasa flow followed by long-held passive poses to gently stress the body’s collagen-rich connective tissue (tendons, ligaments, fascia) using the support of bolsters, blocks and blankets. Vin will wake and refresh you, while Yin provides sweet release for your body and mind.
